The first thing I noticed about the Nike Tiempo Legend Elite boots was their lightweight build, which makes them ideal for accelerating and reaching top speed.
In order to help make the boots as light weight and speedy as possible, Nike have re-engineered the upper part of the boots. They have also built the boots with Kanga-Lit material, which is a synthetic material that is water resistant and imitates the great control of boots made with kangaroo leather. This material also ensures that the boots can be worn in all weather conditions.
Research carried out by Nike when developing the boots revealed that the less weight players have to carry while playing, means the less energy they have to use during a game. Therefore, Nike have put in a huge amount of effort into making the boots as light weight as possible and have made them 16% lighter than other football boots, allowing players to perform better for longer, without tiring as quickly.
The Nike Tiempo Legend Elite are expected to become the boots of choice of Joe Cole and Andre Pirlo this season.
Their very high quality is reflected in their very high price (they will retail at around $275).
If you can afford them, you should definitely give these remarkable boots a try. However, the asking price is just too high for the majority of us mere mortals.
