Over on Youtube, Palm is running an ad campaign for the Palm Pre and Landon Donovan is interviewed by Peter Mehlman of something called Peter Mehlman's Narrow World of Sports. Turns out, Mr. Peter Mehlman is a one time sportswriter for the Washington Post and helped write a number of Seinfeld episodes.
Donovan is the soccer representative it looks like in this campaign. He's got 10,243 views after just 6 days of the video being posted. A bunch of other professional athletes are also interview: Kobe, Danica Patrick, Tony Hawk, and Shawn Johnson to name a few.
As far as a soccer pitchmen, looks like Donovan has Dempsey, Twellman, and Cooper beat right now in terms of the type of product he's indirectly endorsing. However, I don't think the ad campaign is going to go to far - just not cool or funny. I wonder how much he got paid for this spot? It's got to be more than just a free Palm Pre.
