David Beckham Press Conference - AC Milan Introduction
It's not about anything else but the football? Well, actually, for Beckham that is probably true. I don't doubt his desire to play soccer at the highest level, and to have the chance to play with Kaka, Pirlo, and Ronaldinho, but for AC Milan, it's also about selling shirts, which is fine. It's a win win situation for both. When Beckham whips in a cross for a goal, or whips in a free kick for a goal, no one will be complaining.
It's even good for the Galaxy since it helps build up the Beckham brand if he's successful in Italy, unless he somehow refuses to come back to the MLS. If anything, Beckham's probably saying to himself he could have waited a year or two before he headed over to the states. But then, how do you pass up the pile of money that the MLS was offering.
